The National Museum of Ukrainian History invites you to a lecture. What are historical regions and whether they need historians, which will be held on March 3, on Saturday, at 14:00.
Everyone has heard about Volhynia and Galicia, Bessarabia and Budzhak, Bukovina and Podillya, Poltava and Slobozhanshchina ... And they also heard about Novorossiyu. What are the names of these historic regions? Is it worth to argue about where their boundaries are? Can you find Novorossiyu in the 21st century, and Galicia in the 14th? What is the region different from the range and the outline? What are cognitive regions and do they cause cognitive dissonance?
The lecture will be read by Dmytro Vortman, cartographer, scientific editor of the Encyclopedia of History of Ukraine.
The event will take place as part of the LIKBEZ project. Lessons from history at the National Museum of History of Ukraine (4th floor).
Entrance to a museum ticket worth 10 hryvnas.
